Companies within Fisheries Iceland have established a social responsibility policy that is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We are a part of a community and we bear the corresponding responsibility. The Icelandic fishing industry wishes to shoulder this responsibility and promote transparency.
Signing the fishing industry‘s social responsibility policy is not the end. A signature is the beginning of a journey toward making the fisheries industry even better. Although the tasks and goals are diverse and the companies have attained different levels of progress, they have all agreed to follow a specified policy. This policy will be the guiding light that will benefit community, environment and companies when embarking on the journey toward the future.
It is clear that not all companies will be equally quick to implement the policy into their operations and that regular assessment will be made of how they fare in this task. Assessment results will subsequently be made public as non-financial information from the company in question.
Clicking on the red circles on the map below will reveal the names of the companies that have signed the fishing industry‘s social responsibility policy.
The representative of a company that signs the policy is responsible for ensuring that it is adhered to.
